We often get questions about how to optimize workflows between Sequel and Marketo. In this workshop, I'll walk you through the benefits, features, and setup process of Sequel's Marketo integration.
The benefits of integrating Sequel and Marketo are numerous. It allows for a clean data flow, making it easy to connect your Marketo account with just a few clicks. This seamless connection enables automatic creation of new people inside Marketo when they register for a Sequel event, and the addition of engagement data to these new profiles. Furthermore, it allows for automatic updates to program statuses, custom field mapping, and the ability to use Marketo for registering attendees for your Sequel events.
Setting up the Sequel-Marketo integration is straightforward:
1. Head to the Integrations tab in your Sequel dashboard and find the Marketo integration option.
2. Click 'Connect' and input the API endpoint, client ID, and client secret from your Marketo account. Once you've connected, toggle on the options for creating new contacts and sending user engagement data.
3. Map your Sequel events to the corresponding Marketo programs using the program name field. Be mindful of exact matching, as this field is case-sensitive with no allowances for extra spaces or dashes.
4. Customize your program statuses to match the terms in Marketo and map fields from the registration form to ensure data consistency.
5. Lastly, if you prefer using Marketo registration forms, simply click on 'third party registration' in your Sequel dashboard and add the event domain. This will give you access to cross-event registration and participant management within Sequel.
Remember that Sequel-Marketo integration is only available for business customers and above. If you're still on a trial and absolutely need access to Marketo, feel free to send me an email at gage@sequel.io, and we'll see what we can do to help you out.
